Smashbox Beauty Expert Kit Review

At $39 (A $149 Value) for a palette of 5 shadows, a blush, a lipgloss, an eyeliner, and a faceprimer, I couldn't pass this deal up! Unfortunately, at least at my local Ulta, the testers for this kit were under a plexiglass box, meaning that I wasn't able to actually swatch any of the shades. Nonetheless, I decided to take the plunge and pick it up.

E/S from Left to Right:
Marble, Camel, Bare
from Left to Right:
Moonstone, Oak, Marble
All 5 shades in this palette are very wearable neutrals, all with a shimmer finish apart from Oak, which is matte. Bare felt ever so slightly chalky, but the rest were surprisingly buttery....not totally at the level of a Burberry or Rouge Bunny Rouge shadow, but much more buttery than most of the Urban Decay shadows that I have. Plus the palette comes with a great mirror, making this a palette that will be great for on the go.
I am also really excited to try out the eyeliner in Stone, which is a cool matte brown shade. Upon initial swatch, it seems to be hard enough to not smudge on the eyes, but soft enough to go on smoothly. The blush, in the shade Peony, is a matte rosey pink. It doesn't look like anything special, but a good staple color nonetheless.
